Stephen Croke
received his Masters in Professional Writing
from the University of Southern California
and holds a Bachelor’s degree in
Communications/Media with a concentration in
film production from Fitchburg State
College. His screenplay The Busker was
selected as a semi-finalist from over 5,000
scripts in the 2001 Academy of Motion
Picture's (oscars.com) Nicholl Fellowship
Awards.
He worked as a story editor for Global
Entertainment, West, a management and
production company in Los Angeles, where he
helped in the development of feature films
and television.
Mr. Croke was the stage manager for the Los
Angeles premiere of Club Hellfire, a new
play by renowned playwright Leonard Melfi.
He wrote, co-produced and co-directed the
short film, Being Erin Brockovich, a spoof
that was downloaded over 20,000 times the
first day it was aired on the film website,
IFILM.
The film was pick-of-the-day three times in
the first week, and has been downloaded over
70,000 times.
Stephen has worked on other feature and
short films and documentaries in Los
Angeles, Boston and San Francisco. Can’t Get
There From Here, a script he co-wrote, was a
finalist in the Massachusetts Film Office
Screenplay Competition.
His novel, Galbi, was a semi-finalist in The
Chesterfield Writer’s Film Project
